"Ever get the feeling you aint welcome - the locals aint happy"

I wonder why that could be? Anything to do with their country been destroyed, hundreds of thousands of them losing their lives since the invasion, the place in a state of anarchy and civil war, and dozens more being killed on a daily basis. Oh, and the Americans running the country, including the oil supplies, probably doesn't help the matter either.

At least you had a choice, which is more than can be said for the people there. I hope you get back to your home safely, your chances of doing so are somewhat higher than that of the average Iraqi. Ever thought what it must be like to be one?

sorry i dont do politics, but despite what you are fed by the media in the uk, we are here to help, which makes being regularly attacked harder to understand.

oh and at least they aren't been led but a murdering tyrant anymore...

With the greatest of respect, you seem to have completely missed the points I am making. You say you are there to help, I say look at it from their point of view. If a coalition of countries bombed Britain, then plundered its resources and granted the occupying forces immunity from prosecution for anything it did, would you be perfectly happy? I certainly wouldn't!

Invading Iraq has been an utter disaster, it has made the country far less safe and Britain too. The security services said we would be at an increased risk of attack by doing so, and guess, what, they were right. As the saying goes
"The more enemies you make, the more likely you are to be attacked" It's not rocket science -we are the problem, not the solution!

As for getting rid of SH, wasn't invading supposed to be about eliminating the WMDs? Oh yes, but there weren't any. And he wasn't such a horrible person a few years previously, was he? At least I assume that was the case based on all the arms we sold him! You imply that things are better now than if he was still there, maybe the families of the tens or hundreds of thousands of people killed since we started bombing the country may have a different view, what do you think?

Oh, and finally, if we did have to get rid of him, there were much better ways, such as funding an armed resistance.

Advantages: far fewer lives lost, far cheaper, and it wouldn't have put us at great risk of being attacked.

Disadvantages: The Americans don't get to show off their new shiny weapons.

No surprise we didn't go for that option, eh?

You say you "don't do politics", well maybe if some soldiers did instead of just doing as they are told like robots, we wouldn't be in the mess we currently are.
